The San Francisco Fire rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Pat Daughtry to a win, beating the Carolina Reapers, 7-2, at San Francisco Grounds. The slumping Reapers have dropped 6 in a row.

Jim Hofland aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-5.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Hofland.
