Starting pitcher Matthew Rowlands was a major factor in the 4-2 Boston Whistlers triumph over the Indianapolis Eagles. Rowlands picked up the win for Boston, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 7-5. Blake Bryant got the save, the 19th for him this season.

The Whistlers got a big hit from first baseman Tim Lotz. Facing Indianapolis pitcher Ray Dappen in the top of the fifth, Lotz pounded a 2-run home run to left. His 14th home run of the season put the Whistlers ahead, 4-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Rowlands told the Boston Gazette.
