Royals Take Tight Tangle
The Cincinnati Royals weathered a fine game by Syracuse second baseman Alex Cruz to upend the Scorpions, 7-6, at The Castle. Cruz was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. At 42-37, Cincinnati is in third place in the National Conference North East Division.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Jay Bloms, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a run-scoring single. The Royals went on to win.

"This place was electric at the end," Bloms said.
