The Austin Desperados beat the Cleveland Brawlers, 4-2. Austin pitcher and East Lake, Florida, native Joe Townsend led the way. Austin reliever Mike Criswell was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Miguel Soto. Chris Oren earned the save, his 4th.

Austin went up, 4-2, on Leo Serna's 24th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Serna hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher Miguel Soto shaking his head.

"Good team win," Townsend said. "I love it when a plan comes together."

Austin now sits at 51-28, while Cleveland falls to 34-45.
