Yule Shines in 9-3 Fountain Hills Win
|
Fountain Hills shortstop Jeff Yule had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Phoenix Gladiators, 9-3. Donovan March, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 6 innings. The 23ers raised their record to 37-42.
With Fountain Hills leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Jason Perrigin hit a run-scoring single off Phoenix pitcher Derrick Espinosa. It put the 23ers ahead 4-2.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Perrigin said in reaction to the win.
