Heathens Capture Close Win

There was no shortage of dramatics at Estadio Azteca.
The Halifax Heathens topped the San Francisco Fire, 3-2, in American Conference action at Estadio Azteca. The game was highlighted by the performance of Halifax pitcher Angel Morales. Halifax reliever Jeff Buck picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jesus Henriguez was tagged with the loss.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Halifax. That's when 26-year old shortstop Julio Silva hit a run-scoring double off Jesus Henriguez to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
After the game, Halifax manager David Morris applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
With the win, Halifax elevates its record to 4-4.
