Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Steve Stoppel of the Buchanan High School Bears had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 6-1 win over the Ray High School Texans at Ray High School Stadium.

"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 16-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."

Steve Stoppel singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh Spires in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Spires in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jon Godwin in the 9th.
