Eagles Even Record with 3-1 Victory
|
Indianapolis picked up a win at Ahoy Park, bumping off the Tampa Bay Captains, 3-1. Pitcher John Hennig was a major reason the Eagles emerged victorious. Hennig, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. Now 34-44, Tampa Bay has dropped 10 games in a row.
Indianapolis used a well-timed hit by Javy Sanchez to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Bottom line," said Tampa Bay skipper Erik Thames, "we didn't play well enough to win."
