Giants Lose By a Run at Austin
|
The Austin Desperados topped the Detroit Giants, 4-3, in American Conference action at Dell Diamond. The game was highlighted by the performance of Austin pitcher Jon Cordova. Bob Baucke earned the save, his 17th, for the Desperados. The setback makes Detroit 28-50.
Austin third baseman Dave Agee contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Desperados ahead, 2-0.
Agee attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
