The Maine Pines and Boston Whistlers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

Maine got a first-rate effort from pitcher Matt Graham, who frustrated Boston hitters en route to a 3-1 Pines triumph at Oakhurst Field. Maine reliever Nick Slover picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jay Helm took the loss.

Maine took a 2-1 lead on Jimmy Frew's 15th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Frew hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Jay Helm visibly frustrated.

"It feels good to get this one," Frew told the Maine Today.

The Maine win streak is now 3 games.
