The Austin Desperados defeated the Detroit Giants, 10-6, at Dell Diamond. Austin was led by 25-year old shortstop Ruben Alamo, who was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Bob Baucke closed it out for his 19th save. Austin has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the seventh. That's when Desperados right fielder Leo Serna hit a cutter from Allan Kelley for a 2-run single. Just like that, Austin was up, 6-5.
