Chicago shortstop Jason Bear pounded Toronto Trash Pandas pitchers at Trash Panda Field, but it was not enough to keep the Gangsters from falling, 8-7. Bear hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Toronto pitcher Ryan Arntz got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Andy Bennett got the loss. Toronto is now 39-38, Chicago 28-49.

The game-ending blow was delivered by D.J. Van Diest in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Bennett to win it for Toronto and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Van Diest said.
