Cincinnati starter Dave Harvey pitched effectively against the Tampa Bay Captains at The Castle. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. The Royals saw their record improve to 40-37.

Had Brian Brewer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Brewer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Royals.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Harvey said.
