Cincinnati Falters Again, Loses, 3-1, to Tampa Bay
|
The Tampa Bay Captains and Cincinnati Royals played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Edwin Montez was nothing short of phenomenal for the Tampa Bay Captains. The 24-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Cincinnati Royals, 3-1. Montez picked up the win for Tampa Bay, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-7.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Warren Sallee had a game-changing hit. The Captains catcher slammed a 2-run single off Colin Lambert, making the score 2-1, Tampa Bay.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Montez.
The losses continue to add up for Cincinnati, having now dropped 8 straight.
