Syracuse Loses Again, 4-2
|
The Indianapolis Eagles picked up a win at Scorpion Stadium, dropping the Syracuse Scorpions, 4-2. Brad Bixby, who is tied for 10th in the NC in quality starts with 8, was the difference-maker. Bixby got the win, improving to 7-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Vince Rice got credit for the save for Indianapolis. It was his 12th of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jim Anderson? The Indianapolis left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Eagles on top, 2-0. For the game, Anderson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Brad just settled in and did what he does," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
The Eagles now have a record of 38-39.
