Fleet Need Extra Innings to Top Sea Dogs, 8-5
Fleet first baseman Carlos Miranda left his mark on his team's 8-5 win over the Charleston Sea Dogs. Miranda, who is tied for 6th in the NC in bases on balls with 42, went 1-2 with 4 walks, while scoring 2 runs for San Diego in the contest. Lorenzo Landin claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-2. Travis Erb nailed down his 6th save.

Miranda had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Fleet went on to win.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Charleston manager Sang-ton Che.

The second-place Fleet go to 43-33.
