The Miami Boll Weevils locked up a win at Ballpark of Miami, knocking off the St. Louis Cavalry, 5-3. On the mound for Miami was right-hander Juan Velasquez. He played a major role in the triumph. The win gives the Boll Weevils a record of 46-92.

In the bottom of the 4th, Miami took the lead on a 3-run home run by Tim Tynes. At the time, the Boll Weevils were trailing 2-1, but Tynes's hit with two outs against St. Louis pitcher Adam Appelbaum put them in front, 4-2.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Tynes told the Miami Today.
