Cornwall beat Hialeah at King George Park, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Jose Balli. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. Earning his 17th save for Cornwall was Scott Lewis. The Royals now own a record of 52-88.

There was more than one reason the Royals beat the Firecats, but Balli's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Cornwall skipper Ivan Cabrera.
