Cincinnati Nets 3-2 Win Versus Firecats
|
Firecats Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Hialeah Firecats and Cincinnati Bombardiers.
The Cincinnati Bombardiers earned a close win over the Hialeah Firecats, thanks in part to Jordan Odom. The Cincinnati right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the W-AA in complete games with 2, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Cincinnati reliever Andy Hinde snagged the win, upping his record to 5-7. Casey Higgins shouldered the loss.
Had Dylan Waters not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Waters hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bombardiers.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Cincinnati manager Nick Pauli said.
The Bombardiers now own a record of 75-63.
