Callis Launches 2 Dingers, But London Wins
|
The inspired effort of Hialeah designated hitter Jeremy Callis was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-5, to the London Tigers. Callis slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. David Tirado, the winner, is now 2-0. He struck out 4 and walked 4 over 7 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Andy Mahoney was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
London used the hitting of Tommy King to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Tigers on top, 7-1. For the game, King had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said King.
The win elevated the Tigers to 80-56.
