The Augusta Capitols got a good effort from starter Jeff Sharp in defeating the London Tigers at Ballpark of Oklahoma City. The final score was 5-2. Bill Frazer got credit for the save for Augusta. It was his 16th of the year. The triumph puts Augusta at 74-62 for the season.
Augusta used a clutch at-bat from Brent Brogdon to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Capitols ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Augusta manager Chris Clarke. "That's what Jeff is right now."
