Scorpions Stay Hot With 11-1 Win
The Sonoma Scorpions soundly defeated the Cornwall Royals, 11-1, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Jared Smith, who is tied for 7th in the W-AA in RBI with 63, let his bat do the talking. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for Sonoma. The wins continue to add up for Sonoma. The latest makes it 7 in a row.

With Sonoma leading 6-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Smith batted against Cornwall pitcher Manuel Esquivel. Smith hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Scorpions on top, 10-1.

"It was full throttle on our side," said Smith.
