Hernandez Goes Off, But Milkmen Win
|
Alex Hernandez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the St. Louis Cavalry from being beaten, 6-4, to the Vermont Milkmen at Cavalry Ballpark. Hernandez went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Cavalry, now 46-89, have lost 6 in a row.
Vermont used the hitting of Austin Alpers to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Milkmen on top, 2-0. For the game, Alpers had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Alpers. "Those qualities define our team."
