The rain came, as predicted, but the Hamilton Bulldogs and Miami Boll Weevils were able to complete their ballgame.
Hamilton turned a good effort from starting pitcher Richard Alter into a win over the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Miami. The final score was 3-2 in 10 innings. The last-place Boll Weevils now sit at 45-87.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Alter kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Hamilton offense came through. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 10.
"This game tested our mettle," said Alter.
