Bombardiers Deal Sonoma 6-3 Defeat
|
Manny Stevenson was a major factor in the 6-3 Cincinnati win over Sonoma. The Bombardiers designated hitter went 3-5 with 3 singles. The win belonged to Marc O'Brian in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ken Springer took the loss for Sonoma. The first-place Scorpions now sit at 88-46.
The Bombardiers got a big boost from first baseman Phil Williams who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Scorpions hurler Ken Springer. It was his 62nd RBI of the season and put Cincinnati on top, 1-0.
Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
