|
Ricardo Quiroz was terrific for the London Tigers in his team's 5-0 triumph over the Augusta Capitols. His performance earned Quiroz rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Quiroz, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. With the win, London upped its record to 72-62.
London relied on the hitting of Tom Modell to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tigers on top, 3-0. For the game, Modell had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Ricardo gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said London skipper Freddy Coss.
