The Cincinnati Bombardiers scooped up a win at Ballpark of Cincinnati, dumping the Sonoma Scorpions, 3-1. Jose Perez, who is tied for 2nd in the W-AA in strikeouts with 177, was essential to his team's success. The winning pitcher was Perez, now 17-5. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. With the win over Sonoma, the Bombardiers improved to 72-60.

The Bombardiers got an important contribution from first baseman Phil Williams, who in the bottom of the third hit a cutter to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Bombardiers ahead, 2-0.

Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
