Boll Weevils Earn 3-2 Win Versus Firecats
|
Miami beat Hialeah on the strength of starting pitcher Carlos Mejia's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Miami reliever Bob Luse picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. John Wright absorbed the loss. Miami is in third place in the Western AA Coastal Division with a record of 64-70.
John Bole was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Boll Weevils catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We took home the win," said Mejia. "What's not to like?"
