Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old shortstop Greg Martel, the Cornwall Royals defeated the St. Louis Cavalry, 6-2. Mike Revell was the winner. He's now 3-2. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Justin Ashe. The first-place Royals hiked their record to 81-53.

Adam Mathis had a big 2-run home run for the Royals in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cornwall trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Justin Ashe and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 3-2.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Martel.
