Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cincinnati Bombardiers take on the Augusta Capitols.

The Augusta Capitols topped the Cincinnati Bombardiers by a score of 6-2. Leading the way was left fielder Tobias Rivera. Rivera was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Capitols. Fred Taylor earned the win for Augusta. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3.

Augusta used the timely hitting of Chuck Crabtree to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Capitols ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

Said Augusta manager Chris Clarke: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."

The 70-59 Capitols lead the Western AA Coastal Division by one game.
