Bombardiers Drop Firecats, 5-2
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers used a stellar performance from pitcher Danny Vollmer to throttle the Hialeah offense en route to an extra-inning, 5-2 win at Firecats Ballpark. The Bombardiers now own a record of 60-71.
Ken Kirkland was 1-5 for Cincinnati. With one out and the game tied in the top of the 13th inning, Kirkland had a clutch at-bat. Facing Hialeah hurler John Pritt, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Bombardiers a 3-2 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Vollmer. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
