The London Tigers defeated the Sonoma Scorpions, 6-4, in Western AA action at Ballpark of Oklahoma City. London pitcher Jose Perez had a standout performance. Perez picked up the win for London, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Sean Rowe earned save number 6 this season.
Nick Makar had a big bases-clearing double for the Tigers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With London leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Mike Martinez, who leads the W-AA in wins with 14, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 5-1.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Makar.
London has 3 straight wins, Sonoma 5 straight losses.
