Tampa Bay registered a win at Ballpark of Detroit by beating the Detroit Giants, 7-3. Pitcher Edwin Montez was one reason why the Captains triumphed. The loss drops Detroit to 2-6.

Manuel Campos had a big 2-run triple for the Captains in the top of the first inning. With Tampa Bay leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Wroten and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 3-0.

"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Detroit manager Blake Barber.
