Firecats Get Past Augusta, 2-1

Firecats Ballpark played host to some high drama.
The Hialeah Firecats eked out a 2-1 win versus the Augusta Capitols at Firecats Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Dustin Richards. He was terrific. Dermot Howe notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 5-6.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 21-year old first baseman Frank White had a real shot to win the game. Augusta pitcher Jeff Cox was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, White hit a run-scoring single. The Firecats had a walk-off triumph.
"We were in it," said Augusta manager Chris Clarke. "We just didn't score enough runs."
The loss makes Augusta 74-52.
