The Cincinnati Bombardiers rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Danny Vollmer to a win, beating the Sonoma Scorpions, 4-2, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Mike Garst notched his 5th save of the season. Cincinnati currently is in 5th place in the Western AA Coastal Division at 58-68.

In the bottom of the third inning, designated hitter Micah Clark had a 3-run home run for Cincinnati. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Bombardiers on top, 3-1.

"Danny kept his poise and got the job done," said Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez. "He was outstanding."
