The Charleston Shiners took on the San Francisco Fire at San Francisco Grounds.
The Charleston Shiners downed the San Francisco Fire, 4-0, at San Francisco Grounds. Stellar pitching by Sean Stevens had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Stevens yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-0. Shane Kidd earned the save for Charleston, his 11th.
With two out in the top of the fourth, Jason Hasiak put Charleston in front, 2-0, with a run-scoring single. The Shiners went on to win the ballgame.
Charleston manager Chad Hart called it "a darn good win."
The National Conference South Division-leading Shiners are 49-26.
