The Vail Tigercats earned a close win over the Sonoma Scorpions, thanks in part to Tony Suarez. The Vail right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the W-AA in complete games with 1, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The 4th-place Tigercats now sit at 66-59.
The Tigercats got a clutch hit from second baseman Brian Bergfeld. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Tigercats.
Bergfeld told a Vail Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
