Royals Popped by Milkmen, 8-0
|
The Vermont Milkmen went home winners at King George Park, thanks in large part to starter John Bickel. Bickel stifled the Cornwall Royals, enabling Vermont to grab the 8-0 win. Bickel, the winner, moves to 9-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Geert Brown earned the save for Vermont, his 1st.
Sean Heichel, who is tied for 10th in the W-AA in stolen bases with 13, helped out the Vermont cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Ivan Cabrera.
The winning continues for Vermont, with the latest triumph making it 8 straight.
