Loss to Capitols Extends Hialeah Losing Streak
|
Fred Taylor brought his A-game to help Augusta defeat the Hialeah Firecats, 5-0. Hialeah is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 13 games.
Matt Tindall had a big solo home run for the Capitols in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Augusta leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a slider from Casey Higgins, who is tied for 7th in the W-AA with a 9.6 K/9 rate, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 17th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Capitols ahead, 2-0.
Said losing manager Garrett Ubersox: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
