Scorpions Best Milkmen in Pitching Duel
The Sonoma Scorpions converted a terrific effort from starter Steve Oswald into a win over the Vermont Milkmen at Emeralds Ballpark. The Scorpions won the game by a final score of 2-1. Oswald, the winner, moves to 8-6. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. At 68-55, the Scorpions find themselves in second place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

Keith DiPiazza took Vermont hurler Daniel Williams deep in the top of the second. His 2-run home run put the Scorpions on top, 2-0. In all, DiPiazza had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
