The Hialeah Firecats got a sterling performance from pitcher Tadamasa Takashima, but the Cornwall Royals still prevailed, 4-1. Takashima threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. John Mills picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-7. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. Bubba Byrne earned save number 31 this season.
Greg Martel hit a run-scoring triple off Kyle Campbell in the top of the seventh, which put the Royals in front, 2-1. Martel had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
