Boll Weevils Spill Bulldogs, 3-1
|
Miami Boll Weevils starter Mike Mudge turned in an exceptional performance against the Hamilton Bulldogs at Ballpark of Miami, resulting in a Miami win, 3-1. The 4th-place Boll Weevils lifted their record to 56-67.
Greg Hadley drove in one run for Miami. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Hadley had a clutch at-bat. Facing Hamilton hurler Dave Combs, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Boll Weevils a 2-1 lead.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Hadley told the Miami Daily. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
