Scorpions Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
The Sonoma Scorpions got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steve Bueno, who muffled the Stockton offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Scorpions win at Ballpark of Stockton. Bueno, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Ryan Butler notched his 5th save in 5 chances.
Tyler Reese had a big hit for Sonoma in the top of the fifth inning. With Sonoma leading 1-0, Reese hit a run-scoring double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Scorpions up, 2-0.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Bueno, "and let the rest take care of itself."
The Scorpions now own a record of 83-40.
