Bulldogs Tuck Away 8-2 Win Over Hialeah
|
The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Hialeah Firecats, 8-2. Left Fielder Aaron Helgason deserved a large share of the credit. Helgason went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for the Bulldogs. Richard Alter, the winner, improved to 10-4. He held Hialeah to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Bulldogs improved their record to 73-49 with the win over Hialeah.
In the bottom of the second, Hamilton third baseman Sean Henry had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Henry stroked a 2-run single to left-center. It made the score 8-0, Hamilton. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
