The Miami Boll Weevils beat the Vail Tigercats by a score of 7-6. Miami designated hitter Juan Lira deserved the lion's share of the credit. Lira went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Boll Weevils. Bob Luse notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings.
