Stockton Beats Vermont, 5-3
|
Jake Rogers was a major contributor to the 5-3 Stockton win over Vermont. The Ragin Cajuns center fielder went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jeff Bidwell earned his 14th save, after closing out the game. At 74-48, Stockton is in second place in the Western AA Central Division.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the fifth, Rogers had a key at-bat for Stockton. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rogers hit a 2-run single off Mike Hall, making the score 4-2, Ragin Cajuns.
In postgame comments to the Stockton Gazette, Rogers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
