Hamilton used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jimmy Torres to down the Hialeah Firecats, 2-0. Chris Johnson picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Ernie Fields suffered the loss. Steve McManus was credited with the save, his 14th in 16 tries.

Hamilton went in front, 2-0, on Jay Robinson's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Robinson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hialeah pitcher Tim Morris visibly perturbed.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Hamilton manager Emmanuel Montano.

The victory gives the Bulldogs a record of 76-45.
