The Augusta Capitols downed the Cornwall Royals, 7-1, at King George Park. Stellar pitching by Omar Sotelo had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the W-AA in wins with 12, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 6.2 innings, Sotelo surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Adam Woll, his 4th this season.
The Capitols took the lead, 2-0, in the top of the third inning. Facing Cornwall hurler Justin Hesley with two outs, Kevin Cremo hit a run-scoring single.
"Omar pitched like a champ," said Augusta manager Joel Braddock.
After today's action, Augusta sits at 70-50; Cornwall slips to 75-45.
