Bulldogs Win with Late Rally
|
The Hamilton Bulldogs did just enough to nip the Stockton Ragin Cajuns, 4-3, in 15 innings. Hamilton pitcher Nick Beck, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Ryan Middaugh in relief. His record improves to 7-1. David Koontz took the loss. Hamilton is 63-55 and Stockton, with the loss, 60-58.
The most important at-bat for Hamilton came in the top of the 15th inning, when shortstop Yoshito Nakajima stroked a 1-1 sinker to left for a run-scoring single, putting Hamilton up, 4-3.
"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Bulldogs manager Emmanuel Montano.
