Tigercats Lose to Milkmen in Walk-Off
|
Vermont turned a good effort from starter Luke Getts into a win over the Vail Tigercats at Emeralds Ballpark. The Milkmen won the game, 3-2. Morgan Felty, 5-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Vermont is now 58-61, Vail 66-53.
Batting in the bottom of the 12th, 23-year old catcher Craig Dobbs had a real shot to win the game. Vail pitcher Jimmy Redmond was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Dobbs hit a run-scoring single. The Milkmen had a walk-off triumph.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Vermont manager Mike Barriga said.
