Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Miami Boll Weevils and the Hamilton Bulldogs. Miami won it, 3-1, in 14 innings. Miami starter Mike Arnerich was in command. The Boll Weevils now have a record of 57-61 with the win over Hamilton.

Miami got a knockout punch from John Bole. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Bole.
