Simpson, Miami Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
In a tight affair between the Miami Boll Weevils and the Cincinnati Bombardiers, pitcher Matt Simpson was in the zone. The Miami right-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. Miami bumps their record to 48-71 with the win.
Simpson was the winner. He's now 4-3, after putting the Cincinnati offense in a vise grip. Over 8 innings, he gave up no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 8 Ks.
"Matt was throwing strikes, locating well," said Miami manager Bill Murtha.
