Bombardiers Win, 6-5, at Hialeah
|
Brandon Fry helped his team muscle past the Hialeah Firecats, 6-5. In the game, the Cincinnati catcher went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The win went to Jesse Eves in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Dave Corrad took the loss. Picking up his 9th save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Johnson.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricardo Sanabria? The Cincinnati first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bombardiers on top, 5-2. For the game, Sanabria had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Said Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The Bombardiers go to 52-67, putting them 4th in the Western AA Coastal Division.
