Bombardiers Edge Boll Weevils, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers and Miami Boll Weevils played an exciting game.
The Cincinnati Bombardiers turned back the Miami Boll Weevils, 4-3, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Ruben Cabriales, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jordan Odom, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 5 and walked 3 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Jose Perez notched his 18th save in 20 chances.
In the bottom of the first, Cabriales had a 2-run home run for Cincinnati. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Bombardiers on top, 2-0.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bombardiers manager Nick Pauli.
The second-place Bombardiers lifted their record to 62-55.
