Vermont Milkmen starter Dusty Thomas pitched well against the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Miami, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Jason Phillips picked up the save, his 17th. The Milkmen raised their record to 46-71.
In the top of the fifth, Vermont first baseman George Kinder had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Kinder stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Vermont. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.
"Dusty set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
