The Cincinnati Bombardiers beat the Augusta Capitols, 6-0, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. The Bombardiers got a fine performance from designated hitter Omar Gatica, who went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Cincinnati reliever Edgar Ambrosio was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Carlos Loera.
Ashton McSparin was one of the major contributors to the win for Cincinnati. The light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to right in the bottom of the second inning. For the day, he went 1 for 3. He drove in 3 runs.
Gatica said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
Their 50-66 record puts the Bombardiers 4th in the Western AA Coastal Division.
