Capitols Come Back Late to Top Bombardiers, 4-2
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Pinion, but the Augusta Capitols still won the game, 4-2. Pinion threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Augusta has won 4 consecutive games.
John Billings came through with a big-time hit for Augusta. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Augusta skipper Joel Braddock.
