Bombardiers Take Tight Tangle
|
The Augusta Capitols could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Pete Cook into a win. Instead, the Cincinnati Bombardiers prevailed, 4-3. Cook threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Nate Ray, who is tied for 6th in the W-AA in saves with 15, nailed down the save. With the win, Cincinnati raised its record to 63-51.
Justin Bobb made it 4-3, in favor of Cincinnati when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Bombardiers went on to win.
"We were the better team," crowed Bobb.
